Michael Boutin for Barre City Representative
Michael Boutin has spent much of his life serving Barre City and working to make our community a better place to live, work, and raise a family. A lifelong Barre resident, Michael has served the community as a City Councilor, School Board member, School Board Chair, and State Representative.
Throughout his public service, Michael has focused on practical solutions, transparency, and accessibility. He believes elected officials should be available to the people they represent, explain their decisions, and listen to differing viewpoints. Whether someone agrees with him or not, Michael is always there to discuss it.
Michael's priorities have consistently centered on affordability, public safety, strong schools, housing, economic development, and supporting local communities. He has advocated for policies that help working families, veterans, seniors, and small businesses while working to keep government accountable to taxpayers.
In Montpelier, Michael has supported efforts to reform Vermont's education funding system, expand housing opportunities, improve public safety, reduce unnecessary regulations, support veterans and military families, and strengthen economic opportunities throughout the state. He has also been a vocal advocate for Barre City's interests, including flood resilience, downtown revitalization, housing development, and infrastructure improvements.
Michael believes government works best when people of different backgrounds and viewpoints come together to solve problems. His approach has always been to put community first, listen carefully, ask tough questions, and focus on results rather than politics.
